1. What you pay
WTG displays the full experience price before payment. At checkout, the traveler pays only the separately displayed reservation deposit to WTG. The remaining balance is paid directly to the provider using the method and timing shown in the confirmation. Deposits vary by experience; they are not a universal US$20 fee.
2. Request and confirmation
Paying a deposit submits a booking request unless the listing is expressly marked instant confirmation. A request is confirmed only when a confirmation is issued. WTG and the provider may contact the traveler to verify availability or necessary details.
- If the provider declines or cannot confirm the requested date, WTG refunds the deposit collected by WTG in full.
- A traveler may accept an offered alternative date or experience; no substitution is binding without the traveler's agreement.
- The confirmation identifies the provider, meeting details, balance due and cancellation deadline.
3. Traveler cancellation
The cancellation deadline and refund amount shown on the listing and again at checkout apply to that reservation. A cancellation is effective when submitted through the available WTG cancellation channel and acknowledged. If the local calendar date or time zone matters, the experience's Costa Rica local time controls unless stated otherwise.
WTG will never reduce a refund below a non-waivable amount required by law. Because leisure services scheduled for a specific date may be treated differently from general online services in some jurisdictions, travelers should rely on the specific cancellation rule disclosed before payment rather than assume a general cooling-off period applies.
4. Provider cancellation or material change
If a provider cancels, fails to confirm, or makes a material change the traveler does not accept, WTG will refund the deposit collected by WTG. The provider is responsible for any amount it collected directly. WTG will reasonably assist the traveler in seeking that refund and may suspend the provider for noncompliance.
5. Weather, safety and extraordinary events
The provider may delay, modify or cancel an experience when weather, natural events, closures, safety conditions or official instructions make performance unsafe or impracticable. The traveler will be offered the remedy stated in the listing—normally rescheduling, credit or refund—subject to mandatory law. A minor route or timing adjustment that preserves the experience is not necessarily a material change.
6. Late arrival and no-show
A traveler who misses the confirmed start time or fails to meet disclosed participation requirements may be treated as a no-show. Unless the listing or mandatory law provides otherwise, the deposit is non-refundable and any provider balance is governed by the provider's disclosed terms.
7. Refund method and timing
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. WTG initiates them promptly after eligibility is confirmed; PayPal, banks and card issuers control when funds appear. Currency conversion and third-party fees are governed by the payment provider.
8. Problems during an experience
Report a serious safety issue immediately to the provider and local emergency services. Other service problems should be documented and reported to WTG as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 48 hours, so the provider can respond. This reporting window does not remove rights that cannot legally be waived.
9. Chargebacks
Contact WTG before initiating a payment dispute so the booking record and available remedy can be reviewed. Fraudulent or duplicate chargebacks may result in account restrictions, but nothing prevents a traveler from exercising lawful payment rights.
